Analysis
The most recent figure for nitrous oxide (n2o) emissions from power industry (energy) in Sierra Leone is 0.0007 Mt CO2e, measured in 2024.
Compared with earlier readings it is up 16.7% on the previous year and unchanged over ten years.
Over the whole period, nitrous oxide (n2o) emissions from power industry (energy) in Sierra Leone peaked at 0.0008 Mt CO2e in 1999 and was at its lowest, 0 Mt CO2e, in 1970.
That places Sierra Leone 148th out of 194 countries with data for 2024, putting it in the bottom quarter.
The series is highly variable year to year, so single readings are best treated with caution.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from electricity and heat generation (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 code 1.A.1.a. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
