Analysis
El Salvador recorded 0.0508 Mt CO2e for nitrous oxide (n2o) emissions from transport (energy) in 2024.
Compared with earlier readings it is up 3.9% on the previous year and up 53.5% over ten years.
Over the whole period, nitrous oxide (n2o) emissions from transport (energy) in El Salvador peaked at 0.0565 Mt CO2e in 1999 and was at its lowest, 0.0069 Mt CO2e, in 1971.
That places El Salvador 102nd out of 194 countries with data for 2024, putting it in the middle of the range.
The series is highly variable year to year, so single readings are best treated with caution.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the transportation sector (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 codes 1.A.3.a Civil Aviation, 1.A.3.b_noRES Road Transportation no resuspension, 1.A.3.c Railways, 1.A.3.d Water-borne Navigation, 1.A.3.e Other Transportation. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
