Cabo Verde vs India: Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Cabo Verde
- India
How they compare
India currently reports 34.46 kg/ha against 17.51 kg/ha in Cabo Verde, a difference of 16.95 kg/ha.
That makes India's figure about 2.0 times Cabo Verde's.
The two have swapped places 6 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was India ahead.
Cabo Verde ranks 8th and India ranks 10th of 29 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, Cabo Verde averaged higher in 1 and India in 6.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Cabo Verde | India | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 14.35 kg/ha | 16.66 kg/ha | 2.31 kg/ha | India |
| 1970s | 3.21 kg/ha | 16.97 kg/ha | 13.76 kg/ha | India |
| 1980s | 20.2 kg/ha | 18.24 kg/ha | 1.96 kg/ha | Cabo Verde |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
