Bangladesh vs Western Africa: Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen
Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen over time
- Bangladesh
- Western Africa
How they compare
Western Africa currently reports 1.47 million t against 356,615 t in Bangladesh, a difference of 1.11 million t.
That makes Western Africa's figure about 4.1 times Bangladesh's.
The two have swapped places 4 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Western Africa ahead.
Bangladesh ranks 14th and Western Africa ranks 14th of 176 countries.
Western Africa has averaged higher in every one of the 7 decades both report.
Head to head by decade

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
