How they compare

Bulgaria currently reports 2,476 t against 1,845 t in Turkmenistan, a difference of 631 t.

That makes Bulgaria's figure about 1.3 times Turkmenistan's.

The two have swapped places 2 times across 32 shared years of data; in 1992 it was Bulgaria ahead.

Bulgaria ranks 115th and Turkmenistan ranks 118th of 176 countries.

Across the 4 decades both report, Bulgaria averaged higher in 3 and Turkmenistan in 1.

Head to head by decade

Decade Bulgaria Turkmenistan Difference Ahead
1990s 4,644 t 1,198 t 3,446 t Bulgaria
2000s 1,562 t 1,733 t 171.59 t Turkmenistan
2010s 4,311 t 1,672 t 2,639 t Bulgaria
2020s 3,084 t 1,801 t 1,283 t Bulgaria

Averages of every year both report within each decade.

The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
