Malawi vs Western Europe: Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen
Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen over time
- Malawi
- Western Europe
How they compare
Malawi currently reports 150,540 t against 139,951 t in Western Europe, a difference of 10,589 t.
That makes Malawi's figure about 1.1 times Western Europe's.
The two have swapped places 7 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Western Europe ahead.
Malawi ranks 25th and Western Europe ranks 28th of 191 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, Malawi averaged higher in 3 and Western Europe in 4.

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
