Ukraine vs Viet Nam: Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen
Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen over time
- Ukraine
- Viet Nam
How they compare
Ukraine currently reports 259,160 t against 228,001 t in Viet Nam, a difference of 31,159 t.
That makes Ukraine's figure about 1.1 times Viet Nam's.
The two have swapped places 3 times across 32 shared years of data; in 1992 it was Viet Nam ahead.
Ukraine ranks 18th and Viet Nam ranks 21st of 191 countries.
Viet Nam has averaged higher in every one of the 4 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Ukraine | Viet Nam | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1990s | 113,003 t | 232,112 t | 119,110 t | Viet Nam |
| 2000s | 76,237 t | 261,827 t | 185,590 t | Viet Nam |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
