China vs European Union (27): Input — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Input — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- China
- European Union (27)
How they compare
China currently reports 294.79 kg/ha against 117.39 kg/ha in European Union (27), a difference of 177.4 kg/ha.
That makes China's figure about 2.5 times European Union (27)'s.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was European Union (27) ahead.
China ranks 12th and European Union (27) ranks 12th of 201 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, China averaged higher in 5 and European Union (27) in 2.

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
