Lower middle income vs Thailand: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Transport (Energy)
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Transport (Energy) over time
- Lower middle income
- Thailand
How they compare
Lower middle income currently reports 13.3 Mt CO2e against 1.14 Mt CO2e in Thailand, a difference of 12.16 Mt CO2e.
That makes Lower middle income's figure about 11.7 times Thailand's.
Across all 55 years both countries report, Lower middle income has been ahead every year.
Lower middle income ranks 17th and Thailand ranks 16th of 45 groups.
Lower middle income has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Lower middle income | Thailand | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 1.87 Mt CO2e | 0.0901 Mt CO2e | 1.78 Mt CO2e | Lower middle income |
| 1980s | 2.95 Mt CO2e | 0.187 Mt CO2e | 2.77 Mt CO2e | Lower middle income |
| 1990s | 4.65 Mt CO2e | 0.5503 Mt CO2e | 4.1 Mt CO2e | Lower middle income |
| 2000s | 6.41 Mt CO2e | 0.7288 Mt CO2e | 5.68 Mt CO2e | Lower middle income |
| 2010s | 11.41 Mt CO2e | 0.9401 Mt CO2e | 10.47 Mt CO2e | Lower middle income |
| 2020s | 12.37 Mt CO2e | 1.06 Mt CO2e | 11.31 Mt CO2e | Lower middle income |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the transportation sector (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 codes 1.A.3.a Civil Aviation, 1.A.3.b_noRES Road Transportation no resuspension, 1.A.3.c Railways, 1.A.3.d Water-borne Navigation, 1.A.3.e Other Transportation. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
