Kazakhstan vs Libya: Total greenhouse gas emissions excluding LULUCF per capita
Total greenhouse gas emissions excluding LULUCF per capita over time
- Kazakhstan
- Libya
How they compare
Kazakhstan currently reports 16.04 t CO2e/capita against 13.3 t CO2e/capita in Libya, a difference of 2.74 t CO2e/capita.
That makes Kazakhstan's figure about 1.2 times Libya's.
The two have swapped places 3 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Libya ahead.
Kazakhstan ranks 17th and Libya ranks 20th of 203 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Kazakhstan averaged higher in 3 and Libya in 3.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Kazakhstan | Libya | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 22.16 t CO2e/capita | 40.3 t CO2e/capita | 18.14 t CO2e/capita | Libya |
| 1980s | 20.19 t CO2e/capita | 19.23 t CO2e/capita | 0.9593 t CO2e/capita | Kazakhstan |

About this data
Total annual emissions of the six greenhouse gases (GHG) covered by the Kyoto Protocol (carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), and sulphurhexafluoride (SF6)) from the energy, industry, waste, and agriculture sectors, standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values divided by the economy's population. This measure excludes GHG fluxes caused by Land Use Change and Forestry (LULUCF), as these fluxes have larger uncertainties.
