Mongolia vs OECD members: Total greenhouse gas emissions excluding LULUCF per capita
Total greenhouse gas emissions excluding LULUCF per capita over time
- Mongolia
- OECD members
How they compare
Mongolia currently reports 29.61 t CO2e/capita against 10.2 t CO2e/capita in OECD members, a difference of 19.41 t CO2e/capita.
That makes Mongolia's figure about 2.9 times OECD members's.
The two have swapped places 8 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Mongolia ahead.
Mongolia ranks 5th and OECD members ranks 6th of 203 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Mongolia averaged higher in 3 and OECD members in 3.

About this data
Total annual emissions of the six greenhouse gases (GHG) covered by the Kyoto Protocol (carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), and sulphurhexafluoride (SF6)) from the energy, industry, waste, and agriculture sectors, standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values divided by the economy's population. This measure excludes GHG fluxes caused by Land Use Change and Forestry (LULUCF), as these fluxes have larger uncertainties.
