What the numbers show
Greenhouse gas emissions - Regions — GHG emissions from waste is currently reported for 47 countries. The highest value is 146.75 million Tonnes of CO2-equivalent in United States; the lowest is 62,017 Tonnes of CO2-equivalent in Luxembourg.
The median across all reporting countries is 5.38 million Tonnes of CO2-equivalent, and the mean is 20.34 million Tonnes of CO2-equivalent.
The gap between the highest and lowest reporting country is a factor of about 2,366.
Over the past decade 25 countries rose and 22 fell. The largest increase was in Denmark (up 51.6%), and the largest decrease in Lithuania (down 60.2%).
