Analysis
Vanuatu recorded 0.0001 Mt CO2e for nitrous oxide (n2o) emissions from industrial combustion (energy) in 2024. That is the highest value across all 55 years on record.
The figure is unchanged over ten years.
Over the whole period, nitrous oxide (n2o) emissions from industrial combustion (energy) in Vanuatu peaked at 0.0001 Mt CO2e in 1990 and was at its lowest, 0 Mt CO2e, in 1970.
That places Vanuatu 174th out of 193 countries with data for 2024, putting it in the bottom quarter.
The series is highly variable year to year, so single readings are best treated with caution.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from industrial combustion (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 code 1.A.2 Manufacturing Industries and Construction. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
