Guinea vs Southern Africa: Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen
Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen over time
- Guinea
- Southern Africa
How they compare
Southern Africa currently reports 215,780 t against 148,465 t in Guinea, a difference of 67,315 t.
That makes Southern Africa's figure about 1.5 times Guinea's.
The two have swapped places 10 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Southern Africa ahead.
Guinea ranks 24th and Southern Africa ranks 17th of 176 countries.
Southern Africa has averaged higher in every one of the 7 decades both report.
Head to head by decade

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
