Malawi vs Southern Europe: Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen
Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen over time
- Malawi
- Southern Europe
How they compare
Southern Europe currently reports 159,412 t against 150,540 t in Malawi, a difference of 8,872 t.
That makes Southern Europe's figure about 1.1 times Malawi's.
The two have swapped places 2 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Southern Europe ahead.
Malawi ranks 23rd and Southern Europe ranks 20th of 176 countries.
Southern Europe has averaged higher in every one of the 7 decades both report.
Head to head by decade

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
